Bill White joined investment bank, Lazard, in 2012 as Chairman, Lazard Houston, and Senior Advisor with a focus on energy. Prior to joining Lazard, Mr. White served as Mayor of Houston, 2004-2009, and was twice reelected with an average margin of 88 %. As Mayor, Mr. White initiated the first major pension reform by any U.S. state or large city. His relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina earned national recognition. He served as Deputy Secretary of Energy of the United States, 1993-1995. As the Department’s chief operating officer, Mr. White successfully promoted the use of new technologies for oil and gas exploration, the development of alternative forms of energy and the diversification of the world’s oil supply.
Mr. White was CEO for seven years of WEDGE Group, one of Texas’ fastest growing energy-related businesses. Its subsidiaries engaged in a variety of oil and gas services and the manufacture of hydrogen plants and other downstream facilities. Mr. White has served on the boards of numerous public companies, including BJ Services, Pioneer Drilling, CB&I, and USEC. He began his career as an attorney specializing in antitrust securities and energy-related matters, and he helped manage one of the nation’s most successful law firms. Mr. White also served on the Board of the National Electric Reliability Council and on the boards of many non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. White’s involvement with energy policy began in 1975, when he helped draft portions of comprehensive legislation to deregulate oil prices. He also helped craft the bill that initiated deregulation of natural gas field pricing in 1978. He has given hundreds of speeches and written dozens of articles on energy policy during the last thirty-seven years.
Mr. White earned a B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University and a J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Texas.
Mr. White will be discussing the types of experiences that make individuals better investors and managers.

Greg Brenneman is Chairman of CCMP Capital and a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee. Mr. Brenneman plays an active leadership role in executing the Firm’s overall strategy while remaining actively engaged in completing transactions, developing strategies and coaching the senior management of CCMP’s portfolio companies.
Prior to joining CCMP in October 2008, Mr. Brenneman served as CEO of Quiznos Sub from January 2007 until September 2008, President in 2007 and Executive Chairman from 2007 to 2010. Prior to joining Quiznos Sub, from 2004 to 2006, Mr. Brenneman was Chairman and CEO of Burger King. During Mr. Brenneman’s tenure at Burger King, he, along with a team of talented executives, led its turnaround where he oversaw a significant increase in profits with a wide array of lucrative new products, award-winning advertising and drastically improving customer service. Prior to Burger King, Mr. Brenneman was named President and CEO of PwC Consulting in June 2002, where he restructured the business which led to a strategic sale to industry leader IBM for approximately $3.5 billion, resulting in the creation of the largest IT services business in the world at that time. Prior to that, Mr. Brenneman served as President, COO and a member of the board of directors of Continental Airlines where he helped lead the airline as it completed a dramatic turnaround of its business.
In 1994 Mr. Brenneman founded Turnworks, Inc. (“Turnworks”), his personal investment firm that focuses on corporate turnarounds. Prior to founding Turnworks, Mr. Brenneman was a Vice President for Bain & Company. Mr. Brenneman serves on the board of directors of Francesca’s Holding Corporation, Milacron, Volotea, Automatic Data Processing, Inc., Baylor College of Medicine and The Home Depot, Inc. Mr. Brenneman holds a B.B.A. in Accounting/Finance, summa cum laude, from Washburn University of Topeka, Kansas and an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Commerce degree from Washburn University.

Mr. Rutherford joined Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. in 2010 as the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning. He has 30 years of energy and investment banking experience.
Prior to PAA, John served as Managing Director and Head of North American Energy at Lazard, Freres & Co. He also worked at Simmons & Company International for 10 years, where he served as Managing Director and Partner and played a leadership role in building its financial advisory businesses in the mid-stream, downstream, and exploration & production sectors.
During his career, John has developed substantial experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and other strategic actions, including many transactions in which he represented PAA. Since joining Plains, John has continued to advance their business development and strategic planning efforts.
Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. is a publicly traded master limited partnership engaged in the transportation, storage, terminaling and marketing of crude oil and refined products, as well as in the processing, transportation, fractionation, storage and marketing of natural gas liquids. Through its general partner interest and majority equity ownership position in PNG, PAA owns and operates natural gas storage facilities. PAA is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Andrew Linbeck is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Salient Partners, L.P., a Houston based asset management firm with over $19 billion of capital under management, focusing on a broad spectrum of traditional and alternative investments. With expertise in Business Development, Mr. Linbeck provides a wide range of investment experience and service related solutions to Salient’s major relationships. Mr. Linbeck serves on the Salient Board of Directors as well as many of the Investment Committees for the firm and suite of unique fund offerings.
Before forming Salient Partners, L.P., Mr. Linbeck was a Partner and Executive Officer of The Redstone Companies, L.P., a Houston-based investment firm. Prior to that, he served as Senior-Vice President in the Private Wealth Management Group at PaineWebber, Inc. Mr. Linbeck began his career in the financial services industry with Kidder Peabody in 1987. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and later graduated from the Executive Management Program at the Jones School of Business at Rice University.
