Job Opportunity: Corporate Banking – Associate

Natixis is a corporate and investment bank headquartered in Paris with offices located globally. The bank is currently looking for an experienced associate to join its Houston Global Energy & Commodities Team. The candidate will work on a team responsible for covering the office’s entire energy portfolio (E&P, oilfield services, midstream, large corporate, and coal companies). Responsibilities will include but are not limited to analyzing prospective customers, financial analysis to support committing the banks capital, and working with senior management and the internal credit and legal departments to complete transactions.

Qualifications:

The strongest candidate will possess at minimum the following qualities: (i) at least two-years of corporate banking experience (completion of a credit training program encouraged), (ii) an understanding or experience within the energy industry, (iii) bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, (iv) strong work ethic including the ability to multi-task and complete tasks under strict deadlines.

Insurance Analyst Position

Job Description

Job Title:                    Insurance Analyst

Department:              Loan Servicing

SUMMARY   The successful candidate will perform duties of an analytical and problem resolution nature to insure that the proper levels and types of insurance are in place to protect underlying commercial real estate loan collateral.  Requires ability to exercise independent judgment.  Medium to high level of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up insurance requirements for each loan and investor/lender as required by the loan documents and investor/lender requirements.  Maintain up to date insurance requirements for each assigned lender/investor.
  • Monitor assigned loans to ensure that renewals are received timely, and that the insurance coverage terms are satisfactory to the lender/investor requirements.
  • Correspond as necessary with agents, borrowers, portfolio managers, lenders/investors to obtain insurance that complies with loan document and lender requirements. 
  • Supply the lender/investor with evidence of insurance coverage, forms, and reports in the format that the lender/investor requires, and by the specified due date. 
  • Monitor and quality check the work performed by any outside vendor for accuracy and timeliness of completion.  Report defects to upline managers, and assist in correction of data as necessary.
  • Recognize when policies and procedures are outdated, and make suggestions to management for revisions and/or enhancements.
  • Design and run query based reports from data warehouse using Excel or other reporting application(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee team working on lender/investor specific portfolios.  Accountable for team compliance percentages, variance analysis, and problem resolution. Monitor and quality check the work performed by any outside vendor for accuracy and timeliness of completion. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Mathematical Skills: Must be able to accurately perform numeric data input into the loan servicing system. Must have ability to create Excel spreadsheets and other similar reporting tools to express insurance portfolio status. Must be able to use Excel to confirm the validity of insurance payments.  

Reasoning Ability: Ability to perform multiple tasks.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to meet deadlines.

Computer Skills: Report query and data manipulations skills preferred.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel preferred.

Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:

Simmons is currently looking for several two to three year experienced analysts, preferably with E&P industry and/or banking experience.  While all analysts are extremely important to our teams, the second or third year analyst is extremely vital to our overall corporate finance program and will be tasked with high-level responsibilities and significant autonomy.  Our company’s size dictates the opportunity that will be provided to you allowing you to take on some of the heavy-lifting during the course of a project.  We expect much of our analysts in our two-three year analyst program and reward them accordingly.   We are comparable to the Street in both experience and compensation, if not significantly better in both arenas.

Job Opprutunity: Equity Research Analyst or Associate

Job Description:

Motivated, self-starter seeking to broaden energy skill set. 2-3 years experience recommended in the areas of finance and energy. Examples of prior applicable experience include business development within a major oil company or corporate finance analyst in the energy group of a major investment bank. CFA charterholder preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is mandatory as are effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to efficiently interpret and construct complex financial models.

Candidate will work as part of a team responsible for coverage of 16+ integrated oil stocks accounting for $1.4+ trillion in market capitalization and assist in the analysis of oil, natural gas and refining fundamentals. Responsibilities include modeling and forecast of financial statements of companies under coverage, major construction projects and physical balances of hydrocarbon supply/demand, preparation of written research product, both individually (with supervision) and as part of a group, and communication of report conclusions and assumptions to fellow equity research team-members, salespeople and institutional clients.

Analysis:

Candidate will be able to digest information gained from various sources and determine how it impacts stock performance. Candidate should feel comfortable questioning conventional wisdom, digging into details and breaking down complex issues.

Communication:

Candidate must be able to present questions and ideas clearly and concisely in both verbal and written form. Candidate must be able to translate detailed, company specific knowledge into condensed investment recommendations. Candidate should feel comfortable interacting with a wide range of constituencies: industry executives, institutional sales, research, institutional clients, and corporate finance. On a daily basis, candidate will be required to convey information and opinions to various members of the Simmons & Company securities team.
